Scholarship Distribution, Apr 10, 2013
Protect Kids Dream was able to collect funds to support three more kids in 2013 and continuing the scholarship to the previous year's 3 children. The Grant ceremony for 2013 was held in Shree Narayani Primary School, located in Pithauli-8, Laugain, Nepal.
Pithauli is a village development committee in Nawalparasi District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. Chepang, Bhote, and Majhi community in this area do not own Lands in their name. They live in marginal lands and depend on forest and rivers to support their family. Literacy rate is minimal in their community and this was the reason for PKD to go to this village in search of underprivileged Children.
Deumaya, Sapana, and Hari received grant and other supplies from PKD on the occasion of their schools annual function. They were very happy and aspired to reach heights in coming days.
Although Nepal is third richest country in water resource, it suffers from electricity crisis and is available in very few places in Nepal. Thus, in addition to Uniform, Books, Stationeries, and toiletry, emergency light and candles were added to PKD’s 2013 donation list. Emergency light was distributed in a hope to motivate children do better in coming days.
Education is the foundation of a family, nation and world as a whole. PKD works towards increasing the Literacy rate of the people living in rural area by providing every means that counts in improving their education.
